What is my employer net cost?

In most cases, considering tax credits under SECURE Act 2.0, the employer billable net cost for your 401k is $0 for (3) years.  Of course, that depends on the actual credits where employers are eligible for up to $5,000/year for (3) years for a new 401k + an additional $500/year for (3) years when auto-enrollment is included.

Additional Tax Credits:

Businesses with up to 50 eligible employees are also entitled to a tax credit of $1,000, when the business contributes as a match or Profit Sharing, for example:

(10) employees each earning 50k, employer matching as a % of employee pay: 4%

Tax credits total $10,000 ($1,000 for each employee) which covers 50% of the annual matching cost in years 1-2 (while the remaining 50% is tax deductible)

Tax credits for matching continue for (5) years, declining each year beginning in year 3
